About Dr. Mona Monzavi DMD MS, Board-Certified Periodontist and Implantologist :
Dr. Mona Monzavi is a Board-Certified Periodontist and Implantologist. She received her Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of California Santa Barbara and her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She completed her 3-year post-doctoral studies at Loma Linda, where she received her certificate in advanced periodontology and implant surgery.
She has been actively involved in dental research on themes of periodontology, implantology, regeneration, and material science since 2008.
At present, her research emphasizes on Zirconia dental implants and she lectures nationally and internationally on this topic. Her multidisciplinary team approach involves material and data scientists from top universities in the world.
Her publications were awarded the certificate of outstanding research from California Society of Periodontology, Western Society of Periodontology and the European Society of Ceramic Implantology.
In addition to her scientific background, she has long-term clinical experience with the surgical placement of ceramic dental implants.
She is currently practicing in several private practices in Southern California, including Los Angeles and Orange County. She provides periodontal and implant surgical treatments including Zirconia implants as a treatment option for her patients.
