Lecture Topic:
The MVP-7 PerioLase: A Unique Instrument In The Field OF Periodontics And Dental Implant Surgery For Both Titanium and Ceramic Implants

Abstract :

The PerioLase MVP-7 was introduced to the dental community more than 25 years ago. Since that time, it has become an invaluable instrument for more than half of the periodontal community and a large number of general dentists and oral surgeons for the treatment of periodontitis and peri-implantitis.
During our time together, you will come to understand how LANAP-Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure and LAPIP-Laser Assisted Peri –Implant Procedure are so effective and why so many patients are actively seeking dental practitioners who are providing these minimally invasive treatment modalities. We will discuss how the laser can potentiate and optimize hard and soft tissue healing of the peri-implant tissues at the time of implant placement. These principals can apply to ceramic dental implant surgery as well.

Finally, you will see numerous treated clinical cases supporting the efficacy of these treatment concepts.

At the conclusion of this course, the attendee should be able to:

  • Understand the physics unique to the MVP-7 PerioLase
  • Understand the protocols for treating periodontitis and peri-implantitis
  • Understand how the PerioLase can be beneficial for ceramic implant placement

About Dr. Lawrence B. Gelb, DDS :

After having graduated from Columbia School of Dental and Oral Surgery, Dr. Gelb completed his training in periodontics at The University of Connecticut School of Dental and Oral Medicine, and since that time has limited his practice to all aspects of periodontics, LANAP, and dental implant surgery. In his practice he places both titanium and ceramic dental implants.

For the past 25 years he has served as Director of the Middlesex County Dental Hygiene Study Club. This organization provides continuing education courses in the fields of dentistry, medicine, and general well-being to hygienists throughout the state.

He was publisher and editor, along with Dr. Neal Lehrman, of The Wavelength at www.thewavelength.org, an online case reports journal. This publication helped to usher in a new era of collaborative dentistry by bringing together both clinicians and patients into a marketplace of ideas dedicated to the discussion and advancement of LANAP and its related procedures.

He is a past president of the Connecticut Society of Periodontists and has been a frequent lecturer on the MVP-7 dental laser and all of its numerous applications for periodontics, dental implant surgery and facial aesthetics.

Dr. Gelb maintains offices in Middletown Connecticut as well as Manhattan.
